If you're a metalhead,you know this, but it still has to be said. There are not a ton of high-profile concerts from that genre making their way to big-time venues anymore. All Godsmack fans can rejoice at the news that these guys are back on the road. Even though the band now only has Sully Erna and bassist Robbie Merrill from its original lineup, they're still able to keep their 90s and 2000s vibe. That's rare for any band that goes through the typical substitutions and shifts. At the same time, fans of heavy metal know this is a stop they can't afford to pass up on. The genre in general doesn't get many of its bands headlining at these venues. The experience of being at the Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater jamming classifies as epic, even if you're not the biggest Godsmack fan under the sun!
The main culprit behind the tour might be the 25-year anniversary of "Awake," but Godsmack has been busy in the studio over the last few years. They released full albums in back to back years, 2023 and 2024. You might want to add some of those tracks to your playlists leading up to this performance. Ultimately, if you don't, you could find yourself going on mute for a couple of these tracks. That's the last thing that you want at a heavy metal concert.
