Andrew John Hozier-Byrne, known professionally as Hozier, an Irish musician, singer and songwriter. His music primarily draws from folk, soul and blues, often using religious and literary themes and a political or social justice stance. Known for his empowering performances and electrifying stage presence. His debut single “Take Me To Church” was only the beginning for this powerhouse of a singer, as he’s been selling out shows across the globe ever since.

His smash hit single, "Take Me to Church," launched Hozier to instant radio success in 2013, the song reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100, and has been certified multi-platinum in many countries. He quickly followed the song with his self-titled debut studio album, in 2014, it was certified 6x platinum in Ireland and went multi-platinum in several other countries. Nina Cried Power, his 2018 EP that included the title track as a single, debuted at number 1 on the Billboard Adult Alternative Songs list. Wasteland, Baby! debuted at the top of the Irish Albums Chart and the Billboard 200 in 2019, and was certified gold in the United States. Unreal Unearth, his third studio album, was released in 2023 and debuted at number one on the Irish and UK charts.

During the launch of his latest album, Unreal Unearth, which was made during the dark, quiet of the pandemic, Hozier explained it as, "making sense of the last two years' experience." It was inspired by Dante's Inferno, which he was reading at the time, and centered on Dante's notion of the nine circles of Hell. He called the album "quite eclectic" and added that there is "something of a retrospective in what the sounds lean into". He also stated that the three songs on the Eat Your Young EP were "not representative of the entire album." Unreal Unearth was named one of the greatest albums of 2023 by Rolling Stone.

Upon the EPs release, Hozier talked a little about its process. “When I think about music and the time we have, I think of all music as a historical document, really,” he shared. “Whether the song is about going out on a Saturday night, in 100 years, somebody can go, 'OK, well, that's what the ideal was for going out to a club on a Saturday night.' And I think that that's meaningful, and it has purpose, and it has value in that. For me, I would just love that music to at least bear witness in some truthful way as best it can to what it's like to live in its own moment in time.”
